Gami Prabha
the village, in light

Grown in the soil. Made by hand. Shared with the world.

A new venture turning Millaniya's coconut groves, jackfruit trees, and cinnamon lands into value-added food products — and opening the same land to travellers who want to see, taste, and understand how it's grown.

Who we are

A village-rooted start, built in stages

Gami Prabha is a private Sri Lankan company beginning operations in Millaniya with a simple premise: the same coconut, jackfruit, and cinnamon that have grown here for generations can become higher-value food products — and the process of growing and making them is itself worth showing to visitors.

Our first stage is deliberately focused: build small-batch processing capability for three crops, open a working eco-tourism trail through the land that produces them, and prove a model that pays farmers fairly while keeping cultivation organic and low-impact.

What we make

Three crops, carried further

Each product line starts with fruit grown within Millaniya, processed close to the source, and sold as a finished good rather than raw produce — keeping more of the value in the village.

Eco-tourism

Walk the land that grows what you eat

A working farm trail through Millaniya — built around the same coconut, jackfruit, and cinnamon lands behind our products, run at a pace that keeps the visitor footprint light.

Guided cultivation walk

See coconut, jackfruit, and cinnamon growing side by side, with a village guide explaining how each is tended and harvested.

Hands-on processing

Peel cinnamon bark, husk a coconut, or help dry jackfruit chips alongside the people who do it daily.

Farm-table meals

Home-style meals cooked from what's harvested that morning, served in the village rather than a resort dining room.

Stay with the village

Simple stays with host families in Millaniya, built to keep tourism income inside the community.

How we work

Innovation built for a small first stage

Every method below is chosen because it works at small-batch scale, not because it looks impressive — this is a first-stage company, and the approach reflects that.

Solar drying

Low-energy drying for jackfruit and coconut, cutting fuel cost and preserving flavour better than open flame.

Nothing wasted

Coconut husk and shell become fibre, craft material, and biochar rather than field waste.

Outgrower model

Neighbouring smallholders supply raw crop under a fair, published pricing arrangement.

Organic cultivation

No synthetic pesticide use on land supplying our product lines, verified by our own field checks.
